Five bespoke credenzas conceived to elegantly house an integrated speaker and other technologies required for each guest suite
The design was developed in close collaboration with the design studio, bwt. Allowances for electronics and technology were incorporated at the design stage, ensuring elegant, practical and convenient solutions were fully resolved.
The integrated speaker is hidden behind a removable acoustically transparent fabric panel made from stretched linen, with hinged panel access to the rear. The three drawers are lined with a dark aniline leather.
A combination of solid and veneered European oak was traditionally fumed before being finished with a hand rubbed oil.
The fuming process creates a chemical reaction with the tannins inherent in oak. The darkening effect, which first became popular with the Arts and Crafts movement in the 19th century, produces rich warm colours that penetrate deep in the grain.
