‘Suzy’ folding stools

If extra seating and side tables are required for the back living room, four stools hanging from two pegs become both a practical and elegant solution.

The folding stools are a homage to Adrian Reed’s ‘Suzy’ Stool design, originally conceived in 1984.

French oak with a light and heavy pip was specially selected and then carefully placed within the composition of parts. Each individual stool showcases unique figure and character, however, because all are made from the same tree a consistency in tone and grain serves to further unify the set.

The bespoke handmade hinges, milled pin runner slots and hanging pegs are made from solid unlacquered brass.

The joint in the top is reinforced with a contrasting dovetail cleat made from traditionally fumed oak and the stool is finished with a hand rubbed oil.
